MAASTRICHT—TEFAF Maastricht, the major international spring art and antiques event, will return to its usual schedule this year and will be open to the public March 11–19, 2023.
It will host several renowned galleries that specialize in non-European art, such as Galerie Mermoz from Paris, which represents the arts of the ancient Pre-Hispanic civilizations of the Americas.
The arts of Africa will be featured at Lucas Ratton’s stand, and he has announced that he will display a selection of classical sculptures. Yann Ferrandin will offer strikingly aesthetic works, focusing on choice sculptures of subtle elegance.
Those who visit Bernard Dulon’s booth will find a selection of pieces of remarkable quality, including an important Paiwan architectural element.
True to its predilection for organizing thematic exhibitions, Galerie Bernard de Grunne will present a show devoted to the statuary of the Mumuye people of Nigeria. The corpus he will present brings together a dozen works, the importance of which will be highlighted in the accompanying catalogue.
Serge Schoffel will offer collectors with well-honed eyes an eclectic group of recently acquired works that that derive from a variety of areas.
Patrick and Ondine Mestdagh will be showing at TEFAF Maastricht for the first time this year, and they will present the kind of diversified and resolutely aesthetic selection of pieces for which they are so well-known. The objects on view will represent all five continents, with a special emphasis on Oceania through a group of about ten Polynesian ornaments.
